Besides patenting his sewing machine, Isaac Merritt Singer’s distinctive contribution was the introduction of the first widely embraced installment payment plan for sewing machines.

Issac Singer was known as a ladies man and had 22 kids with 5 women. His scandal would remove him from his company.
