How cute is this tote bag? This is such a great way to use up your scrap fabrics. It has become on of my favorite tote bag patterns.
I always have extra fat quarters or fabric from sewing projects and this quilted tote bag patterns is super easy to make.
The finished bag size is 16”x 13.5”x 3.5” and handles are 28″. The original design has an applique which you can do or leave it off is super cute and you could easily make it.

You can create this spacious tote bag with just one charm pack and a single extra fabric. It’s a versatile pattern that can also be made using 1-1/4″ fabric strips, making it perfect for using up scraps.

Donette had a ton of charm packs she bought from a quilting store going out of business. She ended up making 3 of these bags.
She loved the pattern and said it was a very simple piece to make. She did her lining pieces in a solid color that matched her charm packs and did a solid color on the top edge of the bag.

Dimensions of the finished bag are 12″ wide at the bottom, 16″ wide at the top, 13″ tall, and 5″ deep.
The Fleetwood Tote is a quilted bag pattern that encompasses all the desired features of a tote bag pattern: a zippered closure, both internal and external pockets (including one exterior zippered pocket and slip pockets both inside and out), absence of bias binding, and completely finished (bound) edges.
The pattern, spanning 23 pages, is accompanied by comprehensive, full-color, step-by-step visuals guiding you through each stage of crafting your tote.
While none of the steps are particularly challenging, the pattern is quite intricate and is tailored for the intermediate or advanced sewer.
A detailed supply list is provided in the pattern but we do recommend that you are using rotary cutters for your fabric although you can use scissors.
We loved the boxed corners and Amelia added that it’s a very detailed pattern that is easy to follow. Love this bag!

This pattern includes not 1 but 3 patterns. The Canvas tote bag pattern is the ideal size for the back of your car. I keep water, a blanket and emergency supplies in there and of course made it with beautiful fabrics.
Making my own was big savings compared to what I found online of good quality. My SIL wanted one for a backyard garden bag. Hers is made of waterproof fabric we got at our local fabric store and she has her gardening supplies in there.
It would also make a great tote for your craft supplies or sewing supplies to keep everything organized.
I do recommend if you are going to be carrying heavier things to make sure the bottom of the bag is reinforced or if you will have items that are wet to use waterproof fabric or duck canvas.

This is perfect for the new quilter. The bag is a large rectangle and holds a ton of groceries. You do want to use stronger fabric piece so ensure your grocery bag pattern holds up.
I also did my lining panels with water proof fabric because I buy things that are wet at the store.
