No sew fleece pillow instructions

  1. You want to print your heart pattern on white paper and then cut around the outside heart and cut the inside heart out
  2. You want to pin your pattern on 2 10×10 pieces of fleece (cut 1 at a time for best results)
  3. Trace the inside heart using fabric markers from a local craft store or from Amazon below on 1 piece.
  4. Cut each heart from your piece of fleece
  5. Using your scissors, cut ½ inch strips from the edge of the outside to your fabric markings, making sure you have an even number of strips.
  6. After all your strips are cut, tie the two adjoining strips using a double knot all the way around but leave a 2-inch opening for the polyester filling or pillow stuffing of choice
  7. Fill your pillow with filling and finish tying your strips. For best results, make sure you have a tight little knot on each one
  8. Let kids draw or write their notes to mom or grandma and attach them to the outside of the pillow with a safety pin

Pillow care

Simply toss in a washing machine using warm water and ideally powdered detergent. It also does well in the dryer, so go ahead and toss the entire pillow in there. These really do make nice throw pillows, and using fleece fabric ensures they are super soft.

This is really one of the most easy sewing projects and has tons of ways to customize it for different looks or even holidays.

Mom will love showcasing the heart pillows in the living room on the new couch or on her bed. Note that due to the softness, we find that our 4-legged friends love putting them on their dog beds. For a complete list of DIY tutorials available, check out our sewing projects above.
